A PANDEMIC NOTE FROM MARSHALL LEEDS

A PANDEMIC NOTE FROM MARSHALL LEEDS

It’s Been Such a Long time…

I can’t remember the exact year, but I remember the band (Boston) and the words they sang about looking out and the sun being gone. If you know what song I’m talking about, drop me a note.

The tune comes to me when I start thinking about how much our lives have changed over the last seven months. I used to go about my day, not giving much thought about the significance of going to the office. Now, I miss the team, shaking hands with financial professionals, and the casual catch ups on families and personal lives. I have always loved working in this business, building relationships with our clients, and growing financial practices, and will always love it. When I think back at those moments, not only seven months ago, but decades ago, a lot changed in the world around us. However, there is one constant throughout all this change, which has always been and will always be, no matter how much our environment changes around us, the one constant will always be for us to increase the quality of life for our financial professionals, just like you do for your clients.

That’s it, period. If I follow this chorus, I know Summit’s financial professionals will be taken care of and proud to be part of our family. It just so happens to be, my favorite part of working with you is spending quality one-on-one time together. Typically, it’s common for all of us to be together at least once a year and with #ConnectAtHome happening, I had to do something to create a little sunshine and fill a void I’ve been missing.

Anyone who knows me, knows, I believe I can only worry about what I control and to live life without regrets. The one thing that I know I would regret is not taking any opportunity to challenge this new “normal” (I refuse to make it as such).

Therefore, since we can’t be together in person right now, I am taking a tour! I recently shared with the Summit family that I will be jumping in a recreational vehicle (RV) and seeing our investment advisors in their backyards over the next two months. Properly distanced and with careful COVID safety precautions taken. When you remove all the bells and whistles of our business, all that is left is our relationships with you, and I want you to know how much you’re appreciated. Henceforth, I am embarking on the #AdvisorAppreciationTour.

The goal of this tour is to say “Thank You” and hear about your practice, how you and your families are doing and express my appreciation for you for being part of the Summit Family because after all, it’s been such a long time. While I’d love to see everyone in our network, I know that’s not possible. I’ll share a few photos and update from the road and please message a me a hello or update if we don’t cross paths.
